WAWCAS has a special focus on establishing an opportunity for the women within the WAWCAS program to learn how to develop marketable quality craft products, which can be sold in Nepal and Europe.
Some of the women make craft products by weaving, sewing, knitting, crocheting and more. Based on Nepali traditions, colours and patterns, the WAWCAS products bring a new style to Nepali design.
We firmly believe that buying and supporting is better than donating.
By buying WAWCAS products you are helping to support the local artisans, so they can continue to run and expand their businesses and being able to afford schooling for their children.
”Adventurous craft sourcing” – Craft Sisters are travelling, looking for, developing and selling colorful handmade interior from all parts of the world.
We support local traditions and producers – and have a special focus on projects that strengthen women through the work.
We want transparency, and we want to bring home the world and use the trade to support women’s possibilities.
You can buy Craft Sisters’ products in out shop at Jægersborggade, Nørrebro and on our webside.
Craft Sisters is a sponsor and actively involved in Wawcas as experts on the Craft project.
From the start, we have participated in forming the project, identifying the local possibilities of products, traditions within Craft making it possible and saleable designs in Denmark and on the local market.
Beside the products, we are working with the production process, i.e. planning of time, optimizing the local work, ordering commodities, quality assuring, education, organizing, time spent, wages etc.
We have an ongoing correspondence with Nepal and follow the project on a weekly basis.
We have been visiting Nepal the last two years and feel that we are a part of the organization. It is a major and exciting job. The first products have just arrived and is about to be sold in our shop. We have just started and have already come far. In the year to come we have a focus on sale, volume, sale to other customers, locale sale in Nepal and securing the further development of the products and production, so that the women start receiving orders.
(we can offer our qualifications within business, production, design, quality, processes and networking)
