Part 10 – My experience from business training

March 2024

I, Balkumari, would like to warmly welcome all of you to my blog part 10. Today I am going to share with you learnings from our business training. Both my husband and I are eagerly waiting for the training sessions as I always share with him our learnings.

If you want to be a successful and good entrepreneur, you need to focus on how to make a profitable business. After becoming a member of the WAWCAS Group and starting my goat farming business, I have learned so much. Not only around farming and profitable businesses, but also about personal development. While we were discussing how to make a profitable business, Sima told us that in Nepali proverbs there is a saying that ‘you need to treat your customer like a god’. We discussed what it means and how we need to treat our customers and concluded that we must respect our customers and appreciate their feedback if they have any.

We should be honest and inform them of the facts, because then the customers will come again and again.  And if we do not compromise on the quality of our products, they will link with other customers. We also discussed how to make reasonable prices and for that we again discussed that we should keep all the records properly. With good records we can have all the details, and this is helpful while we are selling our goats. We cannot just sell the goats without any calculations. Beven if we have all the calculations, the price of our goats should not be higher than the market price. If it happens, we need to check where our loopholes are and why it is happening?

Sima also told us that we should not buy anything from the investment savings. We should only buy from our profits, as the investment savings should be re-invested to grow our businesses.
